about
Emotive Los Angeles rocker Bexley released her debut EP "Lost In The Moment" Jan. 18th, 2019. Produced by Aaron Edwards, the songs are hard hitting, touching on topics that people often have trouble talking about - like harmful relationships ("Toxic Love") and trying to find meaning in our increasingly chaotic world ("Deal"). Working alongside producer Edwards; she has captured her unique sound and an energy that will resonate with Rock and Alternative fans alike.
Bexley has spent the last 10 years honing her songwriting skills and building her musical chops, slugging it out in clubs in the Northwest at an age when most teens are still trying to decide what their passion is. Bexley combines her early Seattle roots and influences into an intoxicating mix of alternative and grunge that pays homage to her hometown while remaining thoroughly modern. This is evidenced in her debut single "Run Rabbit Run", an empowering song that showcases her guitar skills (she's endorsed by Yamaha Guitars) and her unique vocal style that evokes comparisons to Chris Cornell and Shirley Manson. The video premiered @ Loudwire, and was tapped as "New Music You Need To Hear" by Alternative Press. Nylon says of "Run Rabbit Run": Bexley's debut single is a high-energy rock song I can't stop listening to. If her album is going to be anything like this song, I can't wait for it"! She is off to an auspicious start, by any measure.
Emerging from the supportive Seattle music scene, Bexley quickly rose in local circles and worked hard to rub elbows with local rock and grunge legends to absorb their knowledge while developing her own unique take on music. Her style is heavily influenced by the songwriting and harmonies of the Beatles, while sonically drawing from hometown favorites Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. She holds Robert Plant, Layne Staley, and Chris Cornell as her benchmarks for vocals, and studied the nuance they put into each song. Bexley explains: " I loved growing up in the Seattle area because all the musicians shared a common love for where we were from and what music came out of that town.” Her drive to succeed led her to Los Angeles, where her collaboration with producer Edwards began, and where she now resides.
Bexley's live resume has been building for years: She played over 100 shows in a year at age 14. She debuted at age 13 at the legendary Seattle club The Showbox, where she became one of the youngest acts to ever play there after being discovered from a YouTube video. Among her early career milestones is an opening spot in Seattle on the Revolver magazine "Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock" tour at the age of 16, opening for Lacuna Coil and Sick Puppies. She's also performed on some big stages, including the "Pain in the Grass" festival opening for Rob Zombie.
